Rodman K. Jordan, 77, of Exeter, died peacefully on September 17, 2021 at HopeHealth Hulitar Hospice Center surrounded by family. He was the long time companion of the late Deana Bruskie. Born in South Kingstown, he was a son of the late Ernest L. Jordan, Jr. and Jane (Rodman) Jordan.

Roddy was a Firefighter for 30 years with the North Kingstown Fire Department until his retirement in 2000. He joined the Exeter Fire Dept. # 1 in 1968 and was the past Fire Chief for 15 years. He proudly hit the milestone of 50 years served in 2018. He was a member of the Exeter Fire Dept. # 2, honorary member of the Jamestown Fire Department, honorary member of the RI Fire Chiefs Association, past president of the RI Central Fire League, founding member and first president of the Exeter Emergency Dispatch Center, and past administrator and Chief of Exeter Rescue.

He was a member of the RI Post Card Club and Frenchtown Barn Dance Club. He enjoyed collecting postcards, hunting, fishing, antique Fords, softball, visiting with friends, teaching the next generation and life in general.

Rod was an alumni of St. Andrews and was proud to be part of the "bad boys of the 60's."

He was an incredible father and grandfather both to his family and many others who considered him as such. He spent much time ensuring the safety and wellbeing of those he loved. He leaves an incredible legacy in both the fire service and his family.

He is survived by his loving daughter, Sarah Jordan Bodington and her husband Kyle of North Kingstown. Cherished grandfather of Landon Rodman Bodington and Garrett Kyle Bodington as well as Cassi Angell (Matthew), Brian Angell, and Cade McGowan. He was the brother of Ernie Jordan(Cindy), Gilbert Jordan, and Taber Jordan(Dawn). He was a treasured mentor and friend to many.

In Honor of Roddy's wishes, burial will be private. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

Gifts in memory of Deana and Roddy may be made St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105 will be appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
