92, of Wickford, passed on Friday, January 10th 2014. She was the widow of Robert J. Lunt and is survived by her sons Dr. Agu Suvari, Madis T. Suvari, Esq., her daughter Mari Ann Burgoyne and her in-laws Elizabeth Suvari, Patricia Suvari, and Robert Burgoyne. She was a happy grandparent of six grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.

Helgi (nee Helgi Laine Nuuma) was born in Tartu, Estonia to Adolph Nuuma and Anna Magi Nuuma in October 1921. She and her first husband Dr. Ando I. Suvari and their son Agu came to the United States in 1951 as World War II refugees, having prevailed over many personal tribulations, including surviving the bombing of Dresden. They settled in Rhode Island in 1954. She has resided on Prospect Avenue in Wickford since 1959.

Helgi worked as a physical therapy aide at St. Joseph's and South County Hospitals and continued her interest in this discipline as an instructor and group leader for the "Wetcats," a swimming pool exercise group. She was a member of the North Kingstown Women's Club and a parishioner of St. Paul's Episcopal Church.

Her beloved grandchildren include Alrik Suvari, William Suvari, Catherine Suvari, Derek Suvari, Kerrin Suvari, and Daniel Burgoyne.

Her Requiem Eucharist will be held Saturday, January 18th at 11:00 am in St. Paul's Episcopal Church, 55 Main Street, Wickford. Burial will be private. Visitation hours are on January 17th 4-7 PM at the Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home in Wickford.
