Manuel Thomas Furtado, 98, of Warwick, passed away on Monday, April 15, 2024. He was the loving husband of the late Doris (Beale) Furtado. Born in Warwick, he was the son of the late Manuel R. and Mary (Cole) Furtado.

Manuel proudly served in the United States Navy during World War II as an Aviation Torpedoman Mate Second Class Petty Officer and went on to work as a Master Toolmaker for the Leesona Corporation in Warwick. He was an avid golfer and member of the West Warwick Country Club.

He is survived by his beloved sons-in-law, David Thomas (Jane) and Arthur Dalesandro, his grandsons, David M. Thomas (Yanitza), Ryan Thomas (Tera) and Brian Dalesandro (Megan), seven great-grandchildren, Carli, Leah, Grayson, Asher, Becket, Archee, and Donnavan, and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Manuel was the father of the late Donna Mae Thomas and Patricia Dalesandro, and brother of the late Celia Christy, Mary Coleman, Rose McManus, and Louise Furtado.

Visitation will be held on Friday, April 19, 2024 from 12:00PM-1:00PM at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Interment with Military Honors will follow at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to: American Association for Cancer Research, 615 Chestnut Street, 17th Floor, Philadelphia, PA 19106-4404.
