Alice V. (Moderno) Hamilton, 100, died peacefully at Scallop Shell Nursing Home on Tuesday, December 5, 2017. She was the wife of the late Carlos B. "Ike" Hamilton. Born in New York City, NY, she was the daughter of the late Victor R. Moderno & Edna (Herland) Moderno.

Mrs. Hamilton was a proud graduate of James Madison High School and Pace College. While in New York, she worked as a legal secretary for several institutions. She was a resident of North Kingstown since 1954 and managed her husband's plumbing and real estate businesses.

She was a member of the Exeter Grange, North Kingstown Senior Center and was a Girl Scout Troop Leader. She enjoyed traveling, dancing, and playing the piano. She will always be remembered for her compassion to others and her beautiful smile.

She leaves her loving children: Arthur C. Hamilton & his wife Alice of North Kingstown and Barbara H. Greenwood & her husband David of Saunderstown. She was the mother of the late Pamela E. Carlton. Cherished grandmother of Colin C. Hamilton, Andrew J. Hamilton, & Nellie M. Hamilton, all of North Kingstown.

Her Funeral Service will be held Sunday, December 10, 2017 at 11:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery. Relatives & friends are invited and may call on Saturday from 3:00-6:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, Alice requests that you take some time to visit, entertain, or otherwise brighten the day of a senior citizen of your choice.
