Matthew R. "Matt" Court, 20, of Monroe Street, Warwick, died unexpectedly Monday at home. A lifelong resident of Warwick, he was the beloved son of Joseph M. and Tracey (Nye) Court. Matt attended Pilgrim High School and for the last two years had worked for Dave & Buster's in Providence.
Matt's passion was baseball. He played for Pilgrim High School, as well as Warwick North (West Side) Little League and recently had played with some people from Dave & Buster's for Pawtucket Co-Ed Softball Team. While at Pilgrim, he also played basketball.
Besides his parents he leaves two brothers: Cameron and Robert Court; and his grandmother Paulette Nye; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. He was the grandson of the late Robert S. Nye, Jr. and Joseph and Janice Court.
A funeral service will be held Thursday at 10 AM in All Saints Church, 111 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Calling hours will be held in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick on Wednesday from 4 PM - 7 PM. Burial will be in Pawtuxet Memorial Park.
