Joseph J. Hawkins, 89, of Pawtucket, died Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Briarcliffe Manor. He was the beloved husband of Carol A. (Reid) Hawkins.

Born in Pawtucket, he was a son of the late Lewin A. Hawkins and Anna (Hunt) Hawkins-Terrien.

Joseph was a Recruiter for the US Navy and honorably served in the US Navy during WWII, the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War.

In addition to his beloved wife, Joseph is survived by three sons: Todd Hawkins of Pawtucket, Jaime Hawkins of Cumberland and Jason Hawkins of Pawtucket; three daughters: Joanne Barboza of Pawtucket, Kimberly Hawkins of Cumberland and Diane M. Ledoux of Warwick; two brothers: James T. Terrien of Attleboro and Robert Terrien of Hollywood, FL; two sisters: Sr. Joan Hawkins, SSJ of Warwick and Anna Haynes of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; and four cherished grandchildren.

He was the beloved father of the late Warren Hawkins and brother of the late Edward and Raymond Hawkins and Cecile Riviera.

His funeral will be held on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 9:30 AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:30 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church, 596 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick. Visiting hours on Monday from 4 PM - 7 PM. Burial with military honors will take place in RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
