John Thomas Leonardo, 74, of Cranston, died Tuesday, August 22, 2017 at home. Born in Providence, he was the beloved son of Madeline (Hagopian) Leonardo of Cranston and the late Domenic T. Leonardo.
John was employed as a Supply Clerk at Rhode Island Hospital until retiring two years ago due to illness. He honorably served stateside as a Helicopter Mechanic in the US Army during the Vietnam War.
In addition to his mother, John is survived by a sister: Helen L. Ricci of Cranston. He was the brother of the late Patricia A. Mullins.
His funeral and committal service with military honors were held on Friday, October 13, 2017 in the Rhode Island Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Exeter.
Funeral arrangements are entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
