Roger P. Austin, 79, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Monday, October 2, 2017 at Roberts Health Centre.  He was the loving husband of Linda (Boulton) Austin, his devoted wife. The couple celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary on July 13.  

Born in Glens Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Smith L. Austin & Mary E. (Pruyn) Austin.

Mr. Austin worked as a salesman for many years until his retirement.  He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force and was a member of the U.S. Jaycees.  He was a volunteer Firefighter in North Kingstown, member of the FOP #33, and coached North Kingstown Soccer.  

In addition to his wife, he leaves his loving daughter: Debbie L. Burbank & her husband Jared of North Kingstown. He was the cherished Papa of Crystal L. Burbank of North Kingstown.  

His Committal Service will be held Saturday, October 14, 2017 at 11:30 am in the Chapel of the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.  Relatives & friends are invited and asked to meet at the administration building parking lot at 11:15 am. Calling Hours will be held Friday from 4:00-7:00 pm in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown.

On lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the Diabetes Foundation of RI, 1117 Douglas Ave., North Providence, RI 02904 or to the National Kidney Foundation, 85 Astor Ave., Norwood, MA 02062, will be appreciated.
