Peter R. Mitchell, 78, of Cranston died Thursday, September 28, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center. He was the beloved husband of 52 years to Gail (Cunningham) Mitchell.
Peter was employed for Verizon for 35 years and was a member of the Irish Ceilidhe Club in Cranston and the Ireland 32 Society in Providence.
In addition to his beloved wife, Peter is survived by his loving daughters: Kelly Mitchell Spaziano and her husband, Frank of Cranston and Kimberly Mitchell Nowicki and her husband, Kevin of West Greenwich and was the beloved "Pop" of Peter, Marissa and Madison. He is also survived by a brother: John Mitchell of California; and sisters-in-law: Margaret Dufresne of Florida and Rita Cunningham of Warwick.
He was the brother of the late Marie Mitchell.
His Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, October 2, 2017 at 10 AM in Immaculate Conception Church, 237 Garden Hills Road, Cranston. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick on Sunday, October 1, 2017 from 3 PM - 7 PM. Burial will take place in Gates of Heaven Cemetery, East Providence.
Gail and her daughters would like to extend a special "Thank You" to the caring staff at the RI Hospital Cancer Center and the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center.
