Thomas E. McNeary, 101, of North Kingstown, Rhode Island, died peacefully at home on September 12, 2017.  A former resident of West Long Branch, NJ, he was the loving husband of Barbara C. (Vacarr) McNeary.  Born in Queens, NY, he was the son of the late Patrick McNeary & Mary (Braham) McNeary.

Mr. McNeary worked for the U.S. Department of Defense for many years until his retirement.  He proudly served in the U.S. Army during WWII, as a Lieutenant Colonel in the 82nd Airborne Division. An avid golfer, he was a member of the Fort Monmouth Golf Club of New Jersey where he achieved a hole-in-one in 1988. He was also a member of Deal Golf & Country Club in New Jersey. 

In addition to his wife, he leaves his loving daughter, Elizabeth McNeary Schultz & her husband Neal of North Kingstown, RI.  He was the cherished grandfather of Griffin T. Schultz of Brooklyn, NY & Kara E. Schultz of North Kingstown, RI. 

His private Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 22, 2017 at 10:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME in Wickford Village, RI. Burial with full Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. Relatives & friends are invited & may call on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 pm.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to The Maryknoll Sisters, P.O. Box 311, Maryknoll, NY 10545-0211, will be appreciated.
