R. Muriel Gardiner, 84, of Warwick died August 14, 2017 at Cedar Crest Nursing Home.  Born in Providence, she was the beloved daughter of the late Edwin F. and Rose F. (Moorehead) Gardiner.

Muriel was employed as a Bookkeeper at the Greenwood Credit Union and retired after 64 years of service.  She was a graduate of Lockwood High School, Class of 1951 and a Communicant of St. Catherine of Sienna Church.

Muriel is survived by a brother:  Howard Joseph Gardiner, Sr. of Warwick; several nieces & nephews; several grand-nieces & grand-nephews and her caregiver Marianne Varatta and her family.  She also leaves her cherished extended family at Greenwood Credit Union.

Muriel was the sister of the late William J. Gardiner, Sgt., W.P.D., Ret. and Edwin F. Gardiner, Lt., W.P.D., Ret.

Her Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday, Aug. 21, 2017 at 11 AM in St. Francis of Assisi Church 596 Jefferson Blvd., Warwick.  Relatives and friends are invited and may call at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME on Monday, Aug. 21 from 8:30 AM - 10 AM.  Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery.

Muriel's family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Cedar Crest Nursing Home for the loving care extended to Muriel.  In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory may be made to:  St. Catherine of Siena Church, 3252 Post Road, Warwick, RI 02886.
