Ruth M. (Salisbury) Porter, 91, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on August 5, 2017 at Roberts Health Centre. She was the wife of the late Seldon N. Porter. Born in North Kingstown, she was the daughter of the late Ernest C. Salisbury & Lillian B. (Flagg) Salisbury.
Mrs. Porter was a member of the First Baptist Church of North Kingstown where she was active with the Ready Helpers. She was a member of the Genealogical Society of North Kingstown, charter member of the South County Square Dancing Group, member of the Mayflower Society, and member of the "Swingers" choral group at the North Kingstown Senior Center.
She leaves her loving children: Barbara J. Conn & her husband Alton of North Woodstock, NH, Daniel L. Porter & his wife Karin of Wakefield, Elaine S. Porter Judge & her husband Frank of Jamestown, and David L. Porter & his wife Katherine of San Diego, CA. She was the cherished grandmother of seven grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, & three great-great-grandchildren.
Her Funeral Service will be held Friday, August 11, 2017 at 11:00 am in The First Baptist Church of North Kingstown, 1135 Tower Hill Road, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery. Calling Hours are respectfully omitted.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to The First Baptist Church of North Kingstown will be appreciated.
