Laura (Campbell) Albert, 94, Matriarch of Albert Farms in Exeter, a fourth generation family owned and operated farming business, died peacefully on Friday, July 14, 2017. She was the wife of the late Gerard J. Albert.

Born in Westerly, she was the daughter of the late A. Oscar Campbell and Gladys (Pierce) Campbell.

Before marriage Laura attended Rhode School of Design. Later, her contributions to the family farm were many and varied from bookkeeping to delivering hot coffee and sandwiches to a busy field crew while raising six kids.

She enjoyed travel, local history, art and architecture. Genealogy and collecting rare  books was a favorite pastime. Mrs. Albert was a member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, Pettaquamscutt Chapter. She was a great homemaker and will forever be remembered for her big family celebrations and holiday meals.

She leaves her loving children: David L. Albert with whom she lived, Richard G. Albert of North Kingstown, Douglas C. Albert of Fryeburg, Maine, Sandra L. Hendrick, Susan Albert Chase and Sharon L. Rice, all of Exeter. She was the cherished grandmother of 12 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

Her funeral and burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery was private.

Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
