Susan A. (Manning) Rooney, 62, of Warwick died Wednesday, June 21, 2017 at home.  She was the beloved wife of Michael W. Rooney.  They were married in 1975.  Born in Providence, she was a daughter of the late John P. and Gloria R. (Rooney) Manning.  

Susan was a graduate of Warwick Veterans High School and received a bachelor's degree from Keene State College.  She earned her master's degree at Rhode Island College.  Susan was a Special Education Teacher in the Cranston School System for 28 years and the Warwick School System for seven years.  After her retirement from the public school system, she served as a Special Education Administrator at the Eleanor Briggs School for five years.

In addition to her husband, Susan is survived her beloved children:  Vanessa E. Rooney and Michael P. Rooney, both of Warwick; a sister:  Gloria J. Fairbanks (Bruce) of Warwick; and two nephews: Bruce and Brandon, along with their wives and children.   

Her funeral will be held Saturday, June 24, 2017 at 10:45 AM from THE URQUAHRT-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at Noon in St. Gregory the Great Church, 360 Cowesett Road, Warwick.  Visiting hours will be held on Friday from 4 - 7 PM in the funeral home.  Burial will take place in Glenwood Cemetery, East Greenwich.
