Jesse D. Babcock, 43, of Warwick, died Sunday, June 11, 2017 at the Philip Hulitar Hospice in Providence, surrounded by his loving family. He was the devoted husband of Kimberlie Ann (Nye) Babcock.
Born in Warwick, he was the son of David R. Babcock of Coventry and Elizabeth M. Yena of Warwick. Jesse was employed by the US Postal service as a carrier for 14 years.
Active in Youth sports for many years, he was known as "Coach Jesse". He served the Continental Little League as a coach of Baseball, the Warwick PAL Baseball League, and Football League as a coach. Jesse coached The Connie Mack Junior Baseball League, The Kent Co. Kings A.A.U. and the Pop Warner Champions 2012 and 2013. He enjoyed Bowling and Golf.
Jesse attended The Apponaug Pentecostal Church and The North Kingstown Assembly of God.
Besides his wife and parents he leaves his children, twins David J and Ashley Jordan Babcock, Brett M. Babcock and Caidyn J. Babcock, his sisters Michelle LaChance, Rebekah C. Normandeau and Jennifer L. Delisle. He was the Stepson of Claudia Babcock, and son-in-law of Thomas E. Nye, Sr., and Cheryl A. Nye.
His funeral service will be held Saturday, June 17, 2017 at 10:00am in the Apponaug Pentecostal Church, 75 Prospect St., Warwick. Burial will follow in Pawtuxet Memorial Park, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave, Warwick, on Friday from 4 to 8pm.
