Joyce E. Pitts, 79, of Smithfield, RI died Saturday, May 8, 2017 at Hebert Nursing Home. She was the wife of the late George Pitts. Born in Providence, Joyce was a daughter of the late Elliott E. and Elizabeth S. (Carter) Ferguson.
Joyce was an accomplished chef and was formerly employed at the Lighthouse Inn in Narragansett as well as other restaurants in Rhode Island. She was also a talented artist.
She is survived by several close friends and neighbors.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, May 22, 2017 at 11 AM in Highland Memorial Park, Johnston. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted.
