Anna M. Lamoureux, 93, of Warwick was called to be with the Lord on Friday at home. She was the wife of the late Arthur E. Lamoureux. Born in New York, NY, she was a daughter of the late Carl E. Johnson and Katherine B. (Jacobs) Johnson.

Mrs. Lamoureux embraced her primary duty as a home maker. Her parents were house keepers for the wealthy, thus providing many adventures on the East Side of Providence and summers in Newport. Although suffering a severe early childhood injury to her left arm, she was able to train in gymnastics and swimming, practice piano and violin and become proficient in typing, shorthand and sewing.

A graduate of Hope High School, she procured a job at The Outlet Co. where she met Arthur her husband. During WWII she worked as secretary at "The Shipyard", former Walsh-Kaiser Co., Providence. She had been active in Cub Scouts, PTA, took care of her mother for seven years, enjoyed bringing grandchildren to the zoo and library, visiting the National Parks and caring for the family's dogs, cats and rabbit.

She also worked as sales representative at Cherry and Webb, secretary at the former Tech-Ni-Rite in Apponaug and Kent Hospital.

Brought up with the Reformation doctrines, beauty and solemnity of the old Swedish AUGUSTANA SYNOD Gloria Dei Lutheran Church, she had been a member of the PRESBYTERIAN REFORMED CHURCH of RI for the past many years.

She was the mother of A. Kenneth Lamoureux and Stephen C. Lamoureux, both of Warwick, Mark E. Lamoureux of Sutton, MA, Laurel A. Dickman of Morganton, GA, Faith E. DeBoer-Ruotolo of Jamestown, and the late Alan D. Lamoureux. She was sister of the late Raymond E. Johnson and Vera B. (Johnson) Eid, sister-in-law to Marion Knekties of Cumberland and Luthard Eid of Port Huron, MI, grandmother of seven and great-grandmother of one.

Her funeral service will be held on Thursday, May 18, 2017 at 11 AM in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will follow in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery, No. Kingstown. Visiting hours will be held on Wednesday from 5 PM - 8 PM.
