Richard G. Saran, 69, of Warwick died Saturday, May 6, 2017 at home surrounded by his loving family.  He was the beloved husband of Linda L. (Merlino) Saran.  Born in Providence, Richard was a son of the late Herman and Lillian (Devine) Saran.

Richard was employed as an equipment engineer at Amtrak for thirty years, retiring in 2011.  He also honorably served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam Conflict.

In addition to his beloved wife, Richard is also survived by his loving children:  Richard G. Saran, Jr. and his companion Lori of Warwick and Ronnie C. Saran and his wife Linda of Chepachet; his siblings:  Robert Saran of Moosup, CT, David Saran of Wakefield and Carol Heuer of Norwich, CT; a cherished grandchild:  Skyler S. Saran; and his best friends:  Hap and Sue Miller and Joe Vanderbosh.

He was the beloved brother of the late Steven Saran and Joan Kopecky.

His funeral service will be private.  Funeral arrangements entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
