Albert R. Charboneau, Sr., 93, of Johnston, died Sunday, April 23, 2017 at Morgan Health Center in Johnston.  He was the beloved husband of the late Dorothy M. (Bass) Charboneau.  Born in Warwick, Albert was a son of the late Alexander and Katherine (Logan) Charboneau.

Albert was employed as a machinist at the former Leesona Corporation for twenty years, retiring in 1981.

A US Army Veteran of WWII serving in Troop B of the 7th Armored Division, he was a former Prisoner of War and a recipient of the Purple Heart.  Albert was a Past Commander of the Oaklawn Memorial Post #9329 and volunteered at the VA Medical Center in Providence.  He was active in the United Way and years ago was a Boy Scout Leader.

He was the father of the late Albert R. Charboneau, Jr. and brother of the late Edward, Alexander and Leo Charboneau.

His Graveside Service with Military Honors will be held on Tuesday, May 2, 2017 at 9:30 AM in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, 301 South County Trail, Exeter.  Visiting hours have been respectfully omitted.  

Funeral arrangements entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
