Albert E. "Ted" Bragger, Jr., 92, of North Kingstown, died peacefully on Easter Sunday, April 16, 2017.  He was the husband of the late Elizabeth J. "Betty" (Flick) Bragger for 64 years. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Albert E. Bragger, Sr. & Lydia H. (Mann) Bragger.

Ted was the President & Treasurer of A.E. Bragger Construction, Inc. until his retirement at age 86. He began working for the family business at age 12 and took over the company in 1950.  He was the President of Mar-Bet Realty & Bragger Realty.

He proudly served in the U.S. Army with the 170th Engineer Combat Battalion and the 96ths Division in the Pacific Theatre. 

Ted was the former President & Treasurer of the Utility Contractors of Rhode Island, the National Utility Contractors Association, and Phi Mu Delta fraternity.  He was active for 13 years in garden tractor pulls.  

He was a member of King Solomon's Lodge F.& A.M., member of the American Legion, and was an avid square dancer. Ted & Betty would go square dancing every Saturday night for 14 years. 

He leaves his loving children, Mark A. Bragger, Sr. and his wife Luella of Hope Valley and Elizabeth J. Gilloran and her husband James of Pomfret Center, CT. He was the father of the late Malcolm S. Bragger. Cherished grandfather of Virginia Hucks, Patty Wilkinson, Mark Bragger, Jr., Sarah Gilloran, Julia Gilloran, and great-grandfather of Lyra and Lex Wilkinson. He was the brother of Janet Rochon of San Diego, CA, and the late William E. Bragger. 

His Funeral will be held Saturday, April 22, 2017 at 11:00 am in Greenwood Community Church, Presbyterian, 805 Main Avenue, Warwick.  Military Honors will follow outside of the church.  Burial in Quidnessett Memorial Cemetery will be private.  Relatives & friends are invited and may call on Friday from 4:00-7:00 pm at THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Route 5, Warwick. 

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to Greenwood Community Church will be appreciated.
