Arnold Bernhard Larson, 92, of Carolina, formerly of Exeter, died peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on April 4, 2017.  He was the husband of the late Barbara (Osterman) Larson.  Born in South Providence, New Year's Eve in 1924, he was the son of the late Emil O. Larson & Anna (Swanson) Larson. 

Mr. Larson graduated from Central High School in 1942, joined the U.S. Navy and served from 1942-1946.  He was an Aviation Boatswains Mate First Class aboard the Aircraft Carrier USS Admiralty Islands CVE-99 when they saw action at Iwo Jima, Okinawa, & the Sea of Japan.  After the war, he served a four year apprenticeship at Brown & Sharpe Mfg. Co.  He worked there for 43 years in various managements positions as night superintendent of the North Kingstown plant.

Arnold belonged to several organizations, including the Little Rhody Beagle Club where he was their delegate to the Federated Rhode Island Sportsman's Club, member of Washington Lodge # 5 F. & A.M., American Legion, 50 year member and life member of Post 12 North Kingstown, Camp Yawgoo Alumni Association, and the National Rifle Association. 

Arnold enjoyed hunting and fishing. For over 50 years, he maintained a camp on his private island in Worden's Pond.  For 25 + years, Arnold assisted the Exeter Boy Scouts Troop 45 and Pack 45 when they decorated the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery on Memorial Day. 

He leaves his loving children: Eric A. Larson & his wife Teresa M. of Carolina & Pamela D. Larson of West Kingston.  Cherished grandfather of Katie Crowley & her husband Robert Crowley, Jr. of Bomoseen, VT, Erica Larson and her companion Steven Costigliola of South Boston, MA, Courtney Larson of Westerly, Noah Larson of Carolina, & great- grandfather of Addyson & Anita Crowley of Bomoseen, VT.

His Funeral Service will be held Monday, April 10, 2017 at 9:30 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main St., North Kingstown. Burial with Full Military Honors will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Calling Hours will be held at the funeral home on Sunday from 3:00-5:00 pm. Kindly omit flowers. 

Gifts in his memory to Hope Hospice, 1085 North Main St., Providence, RI 02904 will be appreciated.
