Donald M. Gregory, II, Esq., 74, of North Kingstown, died Monday, March 27, 2017. He was the adored husband of Karen A. (Morton) Gregory. Born in Providence, he was the son of the late Donald M. Gregory and Florence M. (Lane) Gregory.

Atty. Gregory was a graduate of Boston University and Suffolk University Law School and a member of the Rhode Island Bar Association. He practiced law in North Kingstown for over 40 years and was active in his community. He was a member of the Providence Art Club, Wickford Art Association, and served on the board of directors at the Gilbert Stuart Museum.

But above and beyond his role as a successful attorney, Don was also a true renaissance man-a passionate photographer, a writer, musician, painter, and lover of literature, art, and cooking. He was an avid outdoorsman, golf fanatic, and a one time pirate (some of you will understand). His camera bag and duffle always ready for the next adventure, he was a faithful and ever trusting traveling companion. A chaser of sunrises, sunsets, and dreams, he lived his life to the fullest.

His love for his wife, his children, grandchild, and his family and friends was profound, always so proud of their accomplishments, ready with a kind word or gentle touch when things got rough. He was intelligent, light hearted, dignified, fair, strong and determined to fill the time he had on this earth with joy, laughter and gratefulness. He was truly one of a kind, and his physical presence will be and is greatly missed.

In addition to his wife, he leaves his two loving children: Andrew C. Gregory and his wife Mandy of Seattle, Washington, and his daughter, Sarah K. George and her husband Leeson of London, England. He was the cherished grandfather of Hazel Skya Gregory and the brother of Faith M. Goepfert of Providence. He was the proud uncle of several nieces and nephews, and the cat dad to his much loved Reggae.

A celebration of life will be held at a later date with his ashes spread over his beloved St. John, USVI shortly thereafter. Calling hours are respectfully omitted.

Gifts in his memory to the North Kingstown-Exeter Animal Protection League or to Friends of Virgin Islands National Park will be appreciated.

Arrangements have been entrusted to The Cranston-Murphy Funeral Home of Wickford.
