Richard R. Vanasse, 64, of Warwick passed away on Sunday, March 26, 2017 at Philip Hulitar Hospice Center. He was the beloved husband of Nancy (Miller) Vanasse for 33 years. Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Emile R. and Marion E. (Smith) Vanasse.
Richard was a waiter for several Warwick restaurants until his illness. He was a graduate of Pilgrim High School and received his Bachelor Degree from U.R.I. where he was a member of Theta Chi Fraternity.
He is also survived by his loving sons Michael W. Vanasse of Warwick and Christopher R. Vanasse of Deland, FL; his dear brother Gerard L. Vanasse of Concord, MA; and his caring father-in-law Joseph G. Miller.
His funeral will be held on Thursday, March 30, 2017 at 10:30 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 11:30 am in St. Clement Church, 111 Long Street, Warwick. Burial in St. Ann Cemetery. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling Hours will be held on Wednesday from 4:00-7:00 pm.
