Shirley R. (Briggs) Deschene, 82, of Coventry passed away on March 19, 2017 at Coventry Health Center. She was the wife of the late Kenneth E. Deschene. Born in Warwick, she was a daughter of the late Harry and Mary (Magnan) Briggs.
    
Mrs. Deschene was a Customer Service Representative for Sears, Inc. until her retirement in 1997. She was a graduate of Lockwood High School and a member of the Red Hat Society.
    
She was the beloved mother of Kathy D. Casey and her husband Thomas of Coventry, Kenneth M. Deschene and his wife Lori of Manitowoc, Wisconsin and Kevin E. Deschene of Providence.  Loving grandmother of six and great grandmother of two.  
    
Her funeral will be held on Friday, March 24, 2017 at 9:00 am from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95) with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 am in St. Joseph Church, 854 Providence Street, West Warwick.  Burial in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.  Relatives and friends are invited.  Calling Hours will be held on Thursday from 4:00-7:00 pm.
