Janice M. (Carlson) Rhind, 80, of Warwick passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 2, 2017 at Hope Hospice, Providence, RI. She was the wife of the late John "Ed" Rhind, Jr. Born in Cranston, she was a daughter of the late Charles O. and Agnes M. (Nelson) Carlson. She was the sister of the late Richard A. Carlson and Anson O. Carlson.
She was the beloved mother of David E. Rhind and his wife Janet of North Smithfield, Stephen C. Rhind and his companion Mary Beth Tsiokas of Cranston and Philip J. Rhind and his wife Christy of Wilmington, MA. Loving grandmother of Megan, Emma and John. She will also be missed by her beloved dog Gus.
Janice was a member of Christ Church in East Greenwich and for many years was active at Hillsgrove United Methodist Church, now Open Table of Christ and the Southern New England Walk to Emmaus. Mrs. Rhind was a court clerk for the Traffic Tribunal until her retirement.
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Monday, March 6, 2017 from 10:00-11:00 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:00 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, gifts in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 would be appreciated.
