Laurence T. Byrne, 88, of Warwick died Wednesday, February 8, 2017 at Kent Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Bernice M. DeMello.

Born in Brooklyn, New York, Laurence was a son of the late Thomas J. and Dorothy B. (Samuels) Byrne.  He honorably served in the United States Marine Corps from 1948 ~ 1970. He was an Official and Statistician for High School and College Conferences of Track and Field. Laurence was employed as a Conference Planner at Metropolitan Life Insurance Company until retiring in 1988.

In addition to his beloved wife, Laurence is survived by three sons: Kevin M. Byrne, Brendan F. Byrne and Gerald P. Byrne all of Long Island, New York; three daughters: Jacqueline A. Robertson of Jensen Beach, FL, Teresa M. Nye of Wilson, Wyoming and Maureen L. Byrne of Long Island, New York and twelve grandchildren.

Laurence was the loving father of the late Patrick A. Byrne and Terrence J. Byrne.  

His funeral service was private.  Funeral arrangements were entrusted to THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.
