Kenneth L. Newman, Sr., adored husband of Joan C. (Dragon) Newman for 61 years,  passed away on February 14, 2107 at West Shore Health Center.  A lifelong resident of Warwick, he was a son of the late Everett W. Newman, Sr. and Irene M. (Cooke) Newman.
    He retired from the City of Warwick Water Department in 1988 as an inspector for 37 years.  He also served in The United States Army during the Korean War.  He was a lifetime member of First Congregational Church of Warwick and a past member of the Warwick Municipal Retiree Assn. of Warwick.
    He was the proud dad of his daughter Susan Newman of Warwick and his son Kenneth Jr. of Sterling, CT.  He leaves his wonderful brother Robert of Exeter, RI and was the brother of the late Everett "Buck" Newman.  He also leaves his best friend Emo Gordon of Coventry.  He was a dedicated husband and father.
    His funeral services will be private. Calling Hours omitted.  In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to First Congregational Church of Warwick, 715 Oakland Beach Ave, Warwick, RI 02889 or Michael J. Fox Foundation, P.O. Box 5014, Hagerstown, MD 2174-5014 would be appreciated.
