Donald E. S. Hughes, 68, of Warwick passed away on Friday, February 3, 2017 at Kent Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Dianne T. (Montemurro) Hughes. Born in Providence, he was a son of the late Henry F. and Ruth M. (Hannah) Hughes.

Donald was a Firefighter with the R.I. Port Authority for 10 years until his retirement in 1994 due to illness. He also served in The United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was an avid golfer.

He was the loving father of Donald S. Hughes of Bristol, RI, Denise A. McAbee of Union, SC and Donna Marie Hughes of Warwick, RI.  Cherished grandfather of eight and great grandfather of two.  Caring brother of Audrey Bott of Greene, RI.
   
His Funeral Service will be held on Friday, February 10, 2017 at 9:30 AM in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick.  Burial in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.  Relatives and friends are kindly invited.
   
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the American Diabetes Assn., 260 Cochituate Rd., #200, Framingham, MA 01701 would be appreciated.
