Gwladys C. (Priestley) Crooks, 98, of North Kingstown, formerly of Lincoln, died peacefully on Saturday, January 28, 2017 at Scalabrini Villa.  She was the wife of the late Samuel C. Crooks, Sr. Born in Pawtucket, she was a daughter of the late James H. Priestley & Mary E. (Poynton) Priestley. 

Mrs. Crooks was a homemaker who enjoyed reading and traveling the world with her husband.  In her earlier years, she worked for accounting firms in Pawtucket. 

She leaves her four loving sons: Bruce P. Crooks & his wife Jennie of Warwick, Barry J. Crooks of North Kingstown, Samuel C. Crooks, Jr. and his wife Dawn of Rehoboth, MA and Brian W. Crooks & his wife Julie of Lansdowne, PA.  She also leaves many grandchildren & great-grandchildren.  She was the sister of the late Constance Hargreaves. 

A private graveside service was held at the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery.  Calling Hours are respectfully omitted.  Gifts in her memory to the Boys & Girls Club of Pawtucket, One Moeller Place, Pawtucket, RI 02860 will be appreciated.  Arrangements have been entrusted to THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD.
