Eileen M. Morrissey, 76, of Cranston, died Tuesday, December 13, 2016 at Cedar Crest Nursing Center. She was the beloved wife of Daniel J. Morrissey. Eileen was gentle and caring to all she encountered.
Born in Providence, Eileen was a daughter of the late Bernard M. and Mary M. (Tiernan) Lyons. She was a graduate of St. Theresa High School and RI College. Eileen was an educator for over 25 years in the Providence and Westerly School Systems.
Eileen was the loving mother of Daniel B. Morrissey (Syeda Maghrabi) of Silver Spring, MD, Susan M. McMahon (Robert Robillard, Jr.) of Coventry, Ann Marie McMahon of Cranston and Marie Theresa Cavanaugh (Christopher) of Long Beach, NY. She is also survived by three beloved grandchildren.
Eileen was the sister of the late John and Paul Lyons.
Her funeral will be held on Monday, December 19, 2016 at 8:45 AM from THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Ave., Warwick. Followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10 AM in St. Mark Church, 15 Garden Court, Cranston. Visiting hours on Sunday from 3 - 7 PM. Burial will take place in St. Ann Cemetery, Cranston.
