Jason T. Meiczinger, 21, of Wakefield, passed away in February 2016. He was the loving and devoted son of parents, Paula (Zographos) James of Wakefield, and John Meiczinger of Bristol, and younger brother of Robert Meiczinger.

Born in Constanta, Romania, in the town of Cernavoda, Jason (Toader Cazacu) was adopted from Romania, and came to America at 3-1/2 years old in 1999. He later became a U.S.A. citizen in 2000.

Jason was raised in Portsmouth, attended public schools on Aquidneck Island and graduated from the Chariho Career and Technical Center in Wood River Junction. He was the proud recipient of gold and silver awards for baking from Skills USA and garnered a prestigious first place award for a gingerbread house contest from the Ocean House, Westerly. He received a certificate in Professional Baking and Pastry from New England School of Culinary Arts in Montpelier, VT. Following graduation, Jason began his life long passion in baking and pastry at the Ocean House as overnight cook, and later learned to make bagels as overnight baker at Bagelz in Wakefield.

Jason worked long hours testing and perfecting many recipes at home and often, baked cookies, desserts and breads for family and friends. His ability for baking breads with a perfect texture was flawless. Jason lived life joyfully and to the fullest. He was loved by all who knew him and admired for his good nature and adoring smile. He was thoughtful, polite and kind to everyone and generous with his time to all. He loved horses, music, movies, shopping, computers, cooking, photography, friends, and family summer vacations. He loved his tabby cat, Romeo.

Most of all, Jason especially loved his Greek holiday parties, looking forward to seeing all his relatives to enjoy food and lively conversation with. His family was his life and his parents and brother were everything to him. His determination to do well, work hard and overcome challenges in early developmental trauma, will live on in the countless memories his family, relatives and friends have and will carry forever in their hearts.

In addition to his parents and brother, Jason is survived by his grandfather, James Zographos and godmother, Antoinette Zographos, both of MA, along with many aunts, uncles and cousins from his mother's family in MA and NH, and his father's family in upstate NY and VA.

Funeral and burial will be private, reserved for family. Visiting hours are respectfully omitted. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Looking Upwards Inc, P.O. Box 4289, Middletown, RI 02842 or to St. George Greek Orthodox Church of Cape Cod, 1130 Falmouth Road, Centerville, MA 02632.
