Frederick E. Bassett, Jr., 70, of Blackstone, MA passed away on Saturday, October 15, 2016 at Miriam Hospital.  He was the beloved husband of Nan (Albert) Bassett.  Born in Warwick, he was a son of the late Frederick E. and Katherine (Johnston) Bassett.
   
Mr. Bassett was an Electronics Technician for NUWC - Department of Defense and also served in The United States Navy during the Vietnam War.  He was a HAM Radio Operator.
   
He was the loving father of Frederick E. Bassett, III of West Greenwich, Sean C. Bassett of Manville, Mark A. Bassett of Pascoag and Michelle R. Cerbo of North Kingstown.  Cherished grandfather of eight and great grandfather of four.  Caring brother of Douglas V. Bassett and Kathleen Bureau, both of Coventry and the late Mark Bassett.
   
Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Thursday, October 20, 2016 from 9:30-11:30 am followed by a Funeral Service at 11:30 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95).  Burial, with military honors, in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter. 
   
In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to the Wounded Warrior Project, P.O. Box 758517, Topeka, KS 66675 would be appreciated.
