Alan W. Taylor, 88, of Warwick passed away on Sunday, September 11, 2016 at Sunny View Nursing Home. He was the husband of the late Prudence (Heroux) Taylor. Born in North Smithfield, he was the son of the late Harry C. and Florence (Burdakin) Taylor.

Mr. Taylor was a Manager for New England Telephone Co. until his retirement. He also served in The United States Army during WW II. He enjoyed spending time with his family.

He was the beloved father of Scott A. Taylor and his wife Corine of Durango, CO, Glenn H. Taylor and his wife Mary of Warwick and the late Deborah A. Taylor. Loving grandfather of Christopher Taylor and Paige Taylor who was the love of his life. He was the brother of the late Marilyn Taylor and Phyllis Taylor.

The family would like to thank the staff of Sunny View Nursing Home for their exceptional care.

Relatives and friends are invited to Visitation on Wednesday, September 14, 2016 from 9:30-10:30 am followed by a Funeral Service at 10:30 am in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial, with military honors, will follow in R.I. Veterans Memorial Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, gifts in his memory to JDRF (Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation), New England Chapter, 60 Walnut St., Wellesley, MA 02481 would be appreciated.
