Sandra Ann Porter, 74, of Tiverton, died Sunday, September 4, 2016 at the Philip Hulitar Inpatient Center in Providence. She was the beloved wife of Kenneth E. Porter.

Born in Providence, Sandra was a daughter of the late Angela A. (Satori) Hamel-McCarthy, Norman Hamel and the step-daughter of the late John J. McCarthy.

Sandra was employed as an administrative assistant at the Electric Boat Division of General Dynamics at Quonset Point.

In addition to her husband, Sandra is survived by a son: William J. Gardiner (Gretchen P.) of Dahlonega, GA; a daughter: Karen M. Briggs (John W.) of Exeter; a step-son: Michael K. Porter (Linda) of Richmond and a step-daughter: Karen T. Porter of CT; six cherished grandchildren: Nicholas B. Gardiner, Jamie E. Cordo, Britni L. Gardiner, Courtney M. Briggs, Sean M. Porter and Reilly J. Porter; and a great-granddaughter: Harper M. Butts.

Sandra was the mother of the late Craig A. Gardiner and sister of the late Cheryl A. Johnston, Colleen M. Taddei and Deborah A. Lussier.

Her funeral will be held on Friday, September 9, 2016 at 9 AM in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited and may call at the funeral home prior to the funeral service on Friday from 8 AM - 9 AM. Inurnment will follow in the RI Veterans Memorial Cemetery, Exeter.
