Richard L. Hammond 75, a life long resident of Saunderstown, died peacefully at home on Wednesday, July 20, 2016. Born in Saunderstown, he was a son of the late Asa S. Hammond & Elsie M. (Card) Hammond.
Mr. Hammond worked as custodian at the University of RI for many years until his retirement.
He leaves his loving daughter: Holly H. Pierce of North Kingstown. He also leaves his siblings: Alvin Hammond of Wakefield, Ruth Beckham of New Hampshire, Dorothy Taylor of Wakefield, Beverly Mowrey of Connecticut, and seven late siblings.
His Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, July 26, 2016 at 11:00 am in THE CRANSTON-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME of WICKFORD, 140 West Main Street, Wickford Village, North Kingstown. Burial will follow in Elm Grove Cemetery. Relatives & friends are invited and may call on Monday from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.
