was born December 24, 1915, in Middleboro, Massachusetts and then moved to Newport's Fifth Ward (Brenton Cove). She was the daughter of the late Reverend Dr. Charles Percy and Eunice Christopher and the youngest of six children. She graduated from Cranston High School and attended Keuka College in Keuka Park on the Finger Lakes in upper state New York, Class of 1938. She married Kenneth M. Sherman August 28, 1937.

During her lifetime she worked for Federal Products, Peggy Newton Cosmetics, Universal Optical, and Drs. Weston and Joan Abar of Cranston General Hospital and their private practice. She later became Vice President and Treasurer at Precision Chrome Plating Company.

Her memory for detail and insight into others served her and her family to the end. A role model of wisdom, restraint and uncommon graciousness, she was loved and admired by everyone who knew her.

She now joins her husband, Kenneth and her daughter Linda in Heaven. She is survived by her sons; Robert M. Sherman and his wife Lisa, North Smithfield R.I., Donald B. Sherman, North Stonington, CT, Richard C. Sherman and his wife Maria, Rehoboth MA; her son-in-law Charles Sherman of Biddeford ME., and her daughter Deborah H. Sylvia and her husband Dennis, Coventry, R.I. She has 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren.

Her Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, June 25, 2016 at 10:00 am in Warwick Central Baptist Church, 3270 Post Road, Warwick. Relatives and friends are invited. Calling Hours will be held on Friday from 4-8 pm in THE URQUHART-MURPHY FUNERAL HOME, 800 Greenwich Avenue, Route 5, Warwick (Exit 12A on I-95). Burial will be private.

Gifts in her memory to Warwick Central Baptist Church would be appreciated.
